Question 4. How dedicated are you to Blogging?

Every now and then, in a Blog, one must make a rude noise.  This is just such a time.

You say you’re interested—no, anxious—to start a Blog.  Here comes the rude noise… ARE YOU REALLY UP FOR IT?

If you’ve to run a Blog before, if you’ve gone to WordPress or Blogger or any of the many other free hosts, and gone through the initial process, you know that part can be fun.  Most of the free services provide any number of wonderful templates, widgets and add-ons that make building the basic Blog a snap.  Within 10 or 20 minutes you can have a really nice looking Blog.

Sadly, a great many Blogs drift away after posting once or twice.  It becomes clear that people aren’t going to somehow come out of the walls, anxiously demanding to read every word you’ve written.  Even if they are very good words.

It will take some effort on your part.  You’ll have to register with the Search Engines (we’ll cover this later in the series).  You’ll have to get the word out.

If you are unwilling to do the labor needed to get your web presence up and visible, the chances are your Blog will fade away like the hundreds that do every day.

Please understand, I speak from experience.  Uphill Writing is my fourth Blog.  The first three crumpled and crumbled from poor planning and aggravated obliviousness.

If you are a person who can say A and stick around for the Z, then you might be a great Blogger.
