Question 2. What are your expectations for your Blog?

Just as knowing ahead of time what your Blog will be about, pinning down what you expect to get from your Blog is important.

If you’ve never done one, you’ll be surprised to discover that Blogs are both easier and harder than you expect.

One of the difficult parts (There’s more that one?  Yes, sorry) is the initial plan.  Being clear about what you intend your Blog to do, and about what results you expect is essential.

Your Blog will not likely take off overnight.  It will take some real work to start seeing the Visitors and Page-Read graph line start to climb.  If you are thinking about Blogging because you think it will be effortless, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.

You’ll need to decide how your Blog will be hosted (more on this later), and if you want to go the free route, or are willing to shell out some money to get better—and perhaps quicker—results.

More importantly, I believe, is to decide what you want to get out of Blogging.

If you’re looking for fame… well, yes, it is possible.   If you take a tour of the Blogosphere you’ll find no end to popular Blogs written by people who are famous or getting there.

If you’re looking to make money on your Blog, that particular hill is steeper yet.  Can it be done?  Absolutely.  There are a lot of people out there who make a very good living with their Bogs.  Some are only supplementing their incomes, others are blindingly successful, and are raking it in.

Whichever road you choose, it is going to be a lot of work.  That said, if you can develop a love for Blogging, your future will be bright.

Great advice: Enjoy the journey . . . for the ultimate destination is still uncertain. : )
