Question 5. How often will you update your Blog?
Last time I hit you with a Rude Noise (are you really dedicated to the idea of your Blog?). This post’s noise is only slightly less rude.
How often do you plan to post to your Blog? Monthly? Weekly? Daily (shudder), or even multiple posts per day?
Perhaps a better question to ask is how often should you post? And does it make any difference?
According to my personal Blogging sensei, it does, and he makes a nice living from his Blogs.
It goes like this: Once you are registered with the Search Engines (more on this later), establishing your Blog as one that is active, and more “deserving” of a higher place in search results, is a must. This is done three ways:
- Use of the Scheduler to post at the same day and time every month, week or day, or at the same hour if you post on a multiple times per day.
- The number of times you receive comments to your posts, and
- The number of times other blogs Pingback (Trackback) to your Blog, establishing authority.
Disciplining yourself to publish to a schedule is the first and strongest way to establish your Blog. It also gives your subscribers not only something to look forward on a regular basis, but lets them know when to look.
Writing to a deadline, no matter that it is self-imposed strengthens your Blog, and sharpens your own writing skills.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio... and isn't it time you experienced some of them?
