This is devastating news.

Peter Bergman of the Firesign Theatre died Friday (March 9) of Leukemia.  He was 72.

The Firesign Theatre has been the leaders in recorded comedy, it seems, forever, and the four members of the troupe have always felt like personal friends.  (Not that I had more than a few words with any of them).

Their incredible wit and the technologies they developed for layering tracks were amazing.

I’m at a loss for words.

My heart goes out to Phil Proctor, Phil Austen and David Ossman who survived their friend and partner.
